Chief Operating Officer of The Lost Tree Club Re-Elected to CMAA Board of Directors

ALEXANDRIA, VA — February 2009— Richard H. Bayliss, Jr., CCM, (Certified Club Manager), CCE (Certified Chief Executive), chief operating officer of The Lost Tree Club in North Palm Beach, FL, was re-elected to the National Board of Directors of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) at its 82nd World Conference on Club Management, held in New Orleans, LA.

Bayliss moved to The Lost Tree Club recently after serving as COO of Oakland Hills Country Club since 1997. Previously, he was COO of Kent Country Club and Travis Pointe Country Club.

Bayliss joined CMAA in 1985, was certified in 1990, and is a member of CMAA’s Honor Society. In 2008, Bayliss achieved the Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation, which recognizes his demonstrated ability to serve as the senior executive at a club.

Bayliss was elected to CMAA’s Board of Directors in 2006 and is currently a Co-Chair on the Chapter/Member Services Committee. He has also served on several other National Committees, including the Certification, Premier Club Services (PCS), National Club Championship, and Long-Range Planning Committees.

Active on the chapter level, Bayliss has served as President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer and Chapter Education Chair and Club Foundation Chair of the Michigan Chapter. He has served on the Scholarship Committee and as The Club Foundation Chair of the Detroit Chapter.

Bayliss was Club Management magazine’s 2001 Club Manager of the Year. He is on the Board of Directors and is Chair, Oakland Christian Schools; Trustee, YMCA Metro Detroit; and Regional Council Chair, NCA.

As a member of CMAA's Board of Directors, Bayliss will work with members and allied associations to develop and promote high standards of professionalism, leadership and education in club management.
